Asheville is lovely, but if you want to explore another city in the mountains of North Carolina, come to Waynesville. The town is only 30 miles from Asheville and surrounded by natural beauty. It sits in a valley among 6,000-foot Appalachian mountains and is just outside of the Pisgah National Forest. It is also close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Harmen Den Wildlife Refuge, and Nantahala National Forest. Downtown Waynesville features many great shops, cafes, restaurants, and art galleries. Be sure to take a ride along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and dine on famous Southern cuisine.

Located in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole valley, this town offers gorgeous mountain views and plentiful outdoor activities. It’s the perfect gateway to nearby Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. In the winter, it’s a popular ski area. In the warm weather, you can hike on numerous trails, go whitewater rafting, or take a horse ride where you can see some of Lewis and Clark’s trail. Other popular attractions here include the Grand Teton Music Festival, National Museum of Wildlife Art, and the Center for the Art. Several celebrities own homes in this popular city.

From the moment we walked in the door, you will knew that you had chosen the right place. It’s would highly recommend it to anyone spending a few days in the Gatlinburg area. It’s location is perfect- a few miles from either downtown Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge…you are literally right between the two. Everything was perfect in this beautiful mountain getaway. The view from the downstairs porch and the upstairs loft was so amazing. It was everything we could ever ask for in a place for honeymoon. It was very clean and well maintained.

4.    Breckenridge, CO

This cabin was great; it is close enough to the downtown Breckenridge area to enjoy the shops. The views were wonderful, and we got to see the neighborhood moose more than once over the weekend. The cabin was so cozy and clean; it was plenty of room for family. After your stay, you would definitely recommend Moose Meadow to others looking for an impressive place to stay in Summit County.

5.    COUNTRY HOME, Montedinove

Originally, this delightful country house was a castle with its own watchtower. From the tower, you could see the hills all the way to the Sibillini Mountains. Today, the house makes for a neat accommodation investment with a healthy mix of fine views and plush facilities.
The tower has been fully restored and turned into high quality modern accommodation. It’s still possible to appreciate the stunning views of the rolling hills and the snowy Sibillini Mountains. Although the original stones and external look have been retained, this destination has still been updated with a modern slant to take on energy saving and contemporary facilities.

6.    DETACHED HOUSE, ALTA BADIA

There’s a great deal of potential to be had with this detached house in Alta Badia. The package includes the main accommodation building, a large barn, a garage and also an alpine building (which requires restoration work done to it but there’s the chance to turn it into a separate facility zone for a spa or fitness area). For convenience, it’s unbeatable. It links up with other ski lifts of Alta Badia and is 500km away from the connected pistes of the Dolomiti Superski area. It’s also just a walk away from the village centre and is only around 8km away from Corvara and close to San Cassiano and Brunico. The main building holds court to separate apartments spread over a number of floors. The building also houses stacks of other amenities and rooms including office, reception area, cellar, utility/boiler room, ski storage and a communal patio. This is another good example of carefully chosen designs and furniture, with the wooden floors, carpets, drapes and curtains all in tune with each other.

7.    Hope Lake Lodge. Finger Lakes, New York

The 106-room Hope Lake Lodge is practically a town unto itself. Guests have access to an attached water park (for a fee), and free access to a pool and whirlpools. The property sits next to the highest point in the county and activities in the area abound, including a year-round adventure center for zip lining and snow tubing. While it’s easy for kids to stay entertained, adults can enjoy signature cocktails next to the lobby’s cozy fireplace and spa treatments. The property has a Northwoods decor throughout, and many of its details were crafted by vendors in the area. The staff is made up of family members, students, and long-time locals, and the resort exudes a relaxed home-away-from-home environment.

Getting to Jade Mountain requires a bumpy, windy drive, but its organic cuisine, doting service, unwavering silence (no TVs, radios, or children), and extraordinary design make the long journey worthwhile.

One highlight of this hotel is the year-round outdoor pool and hot tub with sweeping mountain views. The cabin was in perfect condition, modern, well decorated, while still having a great log cabin architecture. The location just up the road from Bear Mountain (approx 1/4 of a mile) and right next to the National Forest was perfect. You could get to the ski mountain very quickly and also walk to great sledding, snow stomping, and all around Winter Fun! You will enjoyed your stay immensely.
