Ares Restaurant, which means banana tree bole, is the culinary unit of Sudamala Resort Sanur and features an array of the ultimate cross culture comfort food steak and pasta.
I started with scallop and white radish on the bed of puny lentils, and creamy curry. A pan-seared scallop and radish with the creamy curry sauce lentils, completed with beautiful freshly garnish on top. My light appetizer produced mouthwatering appetite.
Following the surprising starter, then for a more meticulous take of pasta dish as Ares signature menu. Pan seared codfish, spaghetti aglio olio and baby French bean with beurre blanc sauce. This consists of fresh codfish fillet served with aglio olio spaghetti. The moisture and flakiness of my fillet was just right and combined perfectly with raw vegetable wrapped in succulent sauce.
Completing the delicate seafood-based meal, our superstar executive chef Tonny Kwan Lawrence, paired our lunch with a glass of Pinot Grigio wine. The good acidity in white wine takes more flavors for the dish. Pinot grigio is a versatile crisp, dry white wine that pairs well with classic Italian food and seafood. It just a smart way yet stunning by Chef Tony, he just knew how to satisfied the guest.
A great way to end this pleasant dining session is with a portion, double for sure … of brownies in chili and lemon sauce with vanilla ice cream. The chewiness of the brownies and the spectacular sauce made an impeccable match.
This three course meals of Chef Tony’s creation sadly it s not in the menu, but he promises that something special will coming, surprising and awaken your taste buds. Whether looking for a casual lunch or intimate dinner, Ares Restaurant certainly worth to visit. Here, they will deliver tremendous gastronomic meals in a casual feast.
