JACOB’S CREEK BECOMING THE WORLD’S MOST AWARDED WINERY
A TOP 100 RESULT AT THE SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION COMES HOT ON THE HEELS OF JACOB’S CREEK ™ BECOMING THE WORLD’S MOST AWARDED WINERY 1
The 2013 vintage of JACOB’S CREEK ™ Reserve Adelaide Hills Chardonnay has been awarded Top 100 Blue-Gold status at the Sydney International Wine Competition 2015 (SIWC) – the ninth year in a row that JACOB’S CREEK ™ has achieved a Top 100 result.
The Sydney International Wine Competition is an internationally respected competition and unique in the way that it judges wine with food. It is the only Australian wine competition deemed international enough in its focus to be included in the World Association of Wine Writers & Journalists (WAWWJ) list of wine shows that it reviews for its world ranking of wine. It is in this World Ranking of Wine (WRW®) that the JACOB’S CREEK™ winery comes out top.
The WRW® is an independently-calculated score based on a wine brand’s performance in 75
international wine shows selected by the WAWWJ based on their international focus and prestige. The score of a winery is calculated according to a multiplication of the competition entered 2 with the score of the award 3. With JACOB’S CREEK ™ winery scoring a total of 4,293 points for its outstanding and consistently high performance in wine shows during 2013/2014, it has proven
itself to be the World’s Most Awarded Winery1 in 2014.
JACOB’S CREEK ™ Chief Winemaker Bernard Hickin says, “It is an honour to achieve the status of the World’s Most Awarded Winery thanks to our wine show performance over the last year. This accolade gives JACOB’S CREEK ™ global recognition as the market leader for high quality, awardwinning wines and I am delighted to be part of the ‘making of’ the winery’s success.”
The newly-awarded JACOB’S CREEK ™ Reserve Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2013 is available nationwide at RRP $14.99 per bottle.
