In 1988, Pemuteran village was an environmental disaster. Most of the population in Pemuteran village is refugee from Mount Agung eruption in 1963, as a resident in north of Bali, they work as a fisherman without having any fishing knowledge so they did illegal fishing such as potassium cyanide and bombing. From that moment on, it becomes sea damage. Careless habit from the people made Pemuteran much more neglected. It was arid, desolate, or commonly said as total state of catastrophe.
Once upon a time, Agung Prana as an eco-tourism pioneer saw the environmental disaster decided start to begin community education through traditional cultural and spiritual gatherings. He also gave English and hospitality class. At 1992, Taman Sari Cottages is set up, following with repopulate of coral fish by Biorock Technology.
After twenty-six years, nowadays we can enjoy the well establish of Pemuteran area. It was not easy make a change from environmental disaster into one of Bali destination choice. Agung Prana was working on application of Tri Hita Karana in a community based sustainable development. He develop Pemuteran coastal village as a special interest tourism destination.
Taman Sari Resort and Spa provides sixty rooms with three main types of room, cottages, suites, and villas. Each of the type has divided into sub-type room, such as standard, deluxe, ocean front suite, family suite, and many more depend on the room size and other facility. They have a wide range of rooms for supporting any type tourist from backpacker, family, into honeymooners.
The resort takes a traditional approach to the peace and quite of its guests, so they eliminated televisions from most of the room.

As the owner environmental concern, he build only 20% from the total area, and dedicated the rest of 80% is for greenery public scene.
There are 15 spacious villas featured here, all with their own private terrace overlooking a pool. All rooms is fully equipped with facilities and amenities that include comfortable beds with mosquito nets, air conditioning, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, television, and complete kitchenette.
