Padma Resort Ubud, a distinguished luxury hotel in Bali, beautifully exemplifies the harmony between elegance and sustainability. By embracing eco-conscious practices, the resort sets a benchmark for responsible hospitality, ensuring that environmental stewardship does not come at the expense of the guest experience.
Since its inception in 2016, Padma Resort Ubud has actively supported the local community in Puhu Village through programs centered on education, empowerment, and sustainability. Following the success of last year’s English language initiatives for local children, the resort proudly introduces the “Recycle to Rebuild” program for 2024. This initiative, part of PADMA G.I.V.E (Grant, Inspire, Volunteer, and Empower), invites guests to collect used plastic bottles, which will be sold to fund community projects.
“This year, we are expanding our focus beyond education,” remarked Ms. Gusti Ayu Chandra Dewi, Human Resources Manager at Padma Resort Ubud. “The new program encourages guests to participate in collecting used plastic bottles. Collection boxes will be conveniently placed throughout the hotel, allowing everyone to contribute. Our motto, ‘Every bottle counts. Every count matters,’ reflects our enthusiasm for this project, and we anticipate it will foster positive change within our community.”
Ms. Dewi emphasized, “We welcome bottles of all sizes, shapes, and colors. Our aim extends beyond merely selling these bottles as part of our CSR efforts; we seek to repurpose them and mitigate single-use waste. While the specifics of our repurposing plan remain a surprise for now, we will reveal more details at the end of the year.”
This initiative underscores Padma Resort Ubud’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, creating a meaningful bond between guests and the local community. It encapsulates the resort’s vision of a luxurious experience that benefits both visitors and the environment.
