Arrival to Flavor: Expat. Roasters Elevates Bali’s Coffee Culture at Ngurah Rai Airport

Expat. Roasters, Indonesia’s premier specialty coffee brand, warmly welcomes travelers to its latest destination in Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport’s domestic arrivals hall. Here, new arrivals are invited to embrace Expat’s unique coffee culture, crafted to celebrate Bali’s rich heritage and the artistry of its local brews.

This 93 m² coffee sanctuary offers more than a drink; it’s an experience designed to immerse travelers in the craft of coffee. Its open layout fosters a close connection with Expat’s skilled baristas, blending the warmth of Bali with the dynamic energy of an international gateway. The architectural concept, realized by Wilson Harkhono of WHAstudio in partnership with Sydney’s X plus O Design Studio, brings a modern space inspired by Bali’s natural beauty and cultural elegance, infusing subtle Balinese touches within a fresh, inviting ambiance.

“Our store at Ngurah Rai is a special milestone for us,” shares Shae Macnamara, Founder & CEO. “This isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a welcome to Bali, reflecting the spirit of the island through every cup we serve. From the beans sourced and roasted here to the warm smiles behind the counter, we aim to connect travelers with the heart of Bali’s coffee culture.”

Highlighting Expat’s beloved blends like Patria, Nomad, and the Bali Kintamani single-origin, alongside convenient cold brew cans, the location offers travelers an authentic introduction to Bali. Freshly baked croissants, toasties, and light bites complete the experience, ideal for a revitalizing start to the journey. A blend of greenery throughout the store mirrors Expat’s dedication to sustainability, creating a calm, grounding atmosphere amid the airport’s vibrant pulse.

The Ngurah Rai location joins Expat’s expanding presence across Indonesia, with celebrated locations in Bali’s Petitenget and Beachwalk Shopping Mall, Surabaya, Jakarta, and Makassar, each one a distinct nod to Expat’s commitment to bringing Indonesia’s coffee culture to the forefront.

Expat. Roasters at Bali Ngurah Rai is located in the Domestic Arrival Hall, operating from 5 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and 6 AM to 10 PM on weekends, inviting all to begin their Bali adventure with a truly memorable coffee experience.
