Anantara Ubud Bali Resort successfully hosted Protected with Purpose: Where Harmony Takes Flight, a Bali Starling conservation release on 13 February 2026 in Banjar Puhu, Payangan, north of Ubud. Set amid Bali’s lush rainforest, the program reflected the resort’s commitment to wildlife conservation, biodiversity protection, and cultural preservation. Inspired by Balinese tradition, the initiative framed conservation as a mindful act of harmony between nature, people, and culture.

The release ceremony will be led by General Manager Santiago Sagaz, starting with a traditional Balinese blessing. Travellers will witness the gentle release of Bali Starlings, accompanied by the Cendrawasih dance and gameltron music. Representatives from Yayasan KEHATI, BKSDA, and local community leaders will attend, highlighting the collaboration between conservation authorities and local custodians to protect Bali’s natural heritage.

The initiative currently supports two Bali Starling pairs, with one pair released during the recent ceremony as part of its six-month conservation cycle. This gradual approach helps maintain natural behavior and supports population restoration. Known for forming lifelong bonds, the species requires patient and careful conservation efforts. Made Warnata, Director of Spa, Wellness and Recreation, shared that the program reflects Anantara Ubud Bali Resort’s respectful and thoughtful approach to conservation, supported by traveller contributions through Anantara’s D$ program.

After the release, travellers gathered at Kirana, the resort’s Indonesian dining venue, for a curated lunch featuring locally sourced ingredients. Protected with Purpose highlighted the resort’s ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism, meaningful wildlife conservation, and immersive experiences that connect visitors with nature, culture, and community.
