ARTOTEL Sanur – Bali recently hosted a solo art exhibition in collaboration with Balinese artist Mario Andi Supria titled ‘Mata Mata’. The exhibition commenced on April 29, 2024, at ARTSPACE ARTOTEL Sanur – Bali.
Born in Bali, Indonesia, in 1981, Mario Andi Supria began his artistic journey as a photographer in 2006, transitioning to painting in 2020. Influenced by his father, a painter, Mario’s art revolves around deconstructing and reconstructing reality through cohesive expressions, with eyes as a recurring motif capturing various emotions.
Despite lacking formal art education, Mario’s dedication led him to develop a contemporary style blending doodling, abstract, and cubism art. His vibrant palette is influenced by dangdut music, reflected in his canvases through fiery reds, serene blues, passionate oranges, and enigmatic purples.
The ‘Mata Mata’ exhibition transcends mere display, showcasing art’s power to connect visual and emotional realms. Mario Andi Supria’s journey from photography to cubism art and abstract painting highlights his talent and dedication. Agus Ade Surya Wirawan, General Manager of ARTOTEL Sanur – Bali, expressed their commitment to supporting local artists, especially Balinese talents, by hosting exhibitions like ‘Mata Mata’ every two to three months at ARTSPACE, ARTOTEL Sanur – Bali.
The ‘Mata Mata’ art exhibition is open to the public from April 29 to June 26, 2024, offering an immersive experience for Indonesian contemporary art enthusiasts and guests of ARTOTEL Sanur – Bali alike.
