Batik Beyond Borders: A Night of Culture, Creativity, and Connection at Pullman Bali Legian Beach

In celebration of Batik Day, Pullman Bali Legian Beach hosted Pullman Artist Arena: Batik Beyond Borders, an evening that highlighted Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage through art, fashion, music, and dance. Recognized by UNESCO in 2009 as part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Batik served as the heart of the event, blending tradition with contemporary creativity in a vibrant and inspiring setting.

The program opened with a Batik Workshop led by acclaimed Indonesian painter Zulham Damanik (ZD). Participants explored Batik-inspired painting on canvas, bringing their personal creations home as meaningful keepsakes, each signed by the artist. This intimate session bridged cultural heritage and modern artistry, setting the tone for an evening of creativity and collaboration.

As night fell, the Alun-Alun Garden transformed into a stage of performances and showcases. Naluri Manca, winner of Amazing Dance Indonesia 2024, presented dynamic choreography blending traditional and modern elements. International models from Lenny Hartono Management brought global flair, while Allus Bali and Cap Bali revealed exclusive Batik collections enhanced by the refined touch of Sari Kayana Makeup Artist. Live music and artistic collaborations added to the vibrant atmosphere.

More than a showcase, Batik Beyond Borders was a living expression of culture and community. The event reflected Pullman Bali Legian Beach’s role as a cultural ambassador, supporting heritage while embracing contemporary expression. The resort’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, recognized through its Green Globe Certification, further underscored its dedication to meaningful, creative experiences that transcend borders and generations.
