March 2026 brings a rare extended holiday for Indonesians. Nyepi on March 19 and Idul Fitri on March 21–22 fall within the same week. This creates a long break of around seven days, offering time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with family in Bali.

From March 18–20, 2026, AYANA Bali presents a special Nyepi experience at its 90-hectare clifftop resort overlooking the Indian Ocean. The celebration begins on Pengerupukan Day with the Ogoh-Ogoh procession. This year features two symbolic effigies: Giri Murka, representing greed through a volcanic demon, and Danu Murti, a water warrior symbolizing compassion and balance in nature.

The evening continues with the Magical Megobog and Cultural Dinner at Kampoeng Bali. Participants can enjoy a traditional ceremony, cultural performances, and authentic Balinese cuisine in an open-air setting. Cultural insights continue at SAKA Museum through special talks and interactive sessions exploring the meaning of Nyepi and the traditions of the Balinese New Year.

On Nyepi Day, Bali falls into complete silence for 24 hours. Within the resort, travellers can enjoy yoga, meditation, and sound healing. Gentle family activities, including a guided walk through AYANA Farm, are also available. At night, the absence of artificial light reveals a stunning star-filled sky, best experienced through a guided stargazing session.
