From Recycled Paper to Golden Glory: A Sustainable Chinese New Year Triumph at ARYADUTA Bali

The Chinese New Year celebration at ARYADUTA Bali was successfully held in Kuta, bringing together culture, creativity, and sustainability. This year’s event stood out with a large golden horse sculpture and a traditional Chinese gate made entirely from recycled materials. Used invoice papers, cardboard boxes, mineral water cartons, and unused metal were transformed into meaningful festive decorations.

The installation was the result of close collaboration between departments. The Housekeeping team collected and sorted the materials, while the Engineering team built a strong and secure metal foundation. Agus Kurniawan from the Kitchen department led the artistic creation, turning simple recycled items into detailed and elegant artwork. The project reflected the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and internal talent development.

The celebration continued with a Chinese New Year dinner at The Heavens, the hotel’s iconic glass chapel. Decorated in gold and red tones, the venue created a warm and joyful atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed a curated buffet alongside cultural highlights such as the Yee Sang ceremony, a lively lion dance, and a wu shu performance.

Through this sustainable Chinese New Year celebration, ARYADUTA Bali once again showed that festive luxury can go hand in hand with environmental awareness. The event left lasting impressions while reinforcing the value of teamwork, culture, and responsible hospitality.
