Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta is Set to Open
as the First Garrya Brand in Indonesia and First Banyan Tree Property in Java

A Boutique Resort Emerges in the Lush Javanese Countryside
to Offer a Sense of Seclusion and Tranquility

Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta will open its doors on 24th October 2023, a wellness-centred resort located on the banks of Denggung River in Gabungan Village, a serene village in Sleman Region, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The opening of Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta marks the debut of the Garrya brand in Indonesia and the fi rst Banyan Tree property in Java island. Inspired by Asian sensibilities and natural elements, Garrya promotes beauty in simplicity by offering serene spaces designed for simplified living, cultural immersion and authentic experiences.

The resort encapsulates the area’s rich cultural legacy and draws design inspiration from the ancient Javanese culture and from Yogyakarta’s iconic temple. A joglo-style lobby clad in recycled wood pays respect to local
architectural styles, while a dedication to sustainable design has guided green building practices and the selection of eco-friendly materials such as terracotta bricks and teakwood used to create intricate antique-style carvings. With their clean lines, wellbeing-enhancing layouts, private plunge pools and décor that merges ancient Javanese heritage charm with modern sensibilities, the villas are perfect for both fi nding the perfect peace on a solo trip or with loved ones.

Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta will feature 24 villas, overlooking the main pool and the river or the stunning sunset. The largest accommodations are the residential two-bedroom villas that come with a full-size swimming pool, gazebo, jacuzzi and a spacious living room. The signature Wellbeing Sanctuary Villa is nestled amid lush greenery for a holistic wellness experience.

Refl ecting the resort’s focus on mindfulness and wellbeing, Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta’s four-room 8lements Spa will specialise in indigenous wellness therapies rooted in Asian wisdom. Guests will also be able to join group
wellness activities ranging from poolside yoga at the riverside deck to dance workshops in the dedicated Movement Studio, or work out in the gym.

The culinary offerings at Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta will be a celebration of Yogyakarta’s rich and fl avourful cuisine. A variety of traditional Javanese dishes made from locally sourced ingredients will be offered at the resort’s
“Refresh” all-day dining venue, “Kopi Zop” lounge and bar, and its private dining room. Guests will also have a chance to purchase handmade arts and crafts commissioned from local artisans at the on-site Shop, while a dedicated event space will provide a refreshing setting for in-nature meetings.

Further elevating the experience, guests can explore Yogyakarta and its traditional arts and crafts, visit the Sultan’s Palace with its numerous open-air pavilions that host classical Javanese dance shows and concerts of gamelan music, and see the hub of the silver industry in Kotagede, an upmarket suburb of Yogyakarta.

To be the fi rst ones to experience Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta, guests can book the pre-opening offer with a 20% discount that will run until 3th November 2023 for stays between 23rd October and 24th December 2023.
