Accor, a distinguished leader in global hospitality, proudly announces KarnavALL Batik Indonesia, an engaging celebration of National Batik Day on October 2, 2024. To honor this cherished Indonesian tradition, Accor’s hotels and resorts across more than 30 locations nationwide will host a variety of Batik-inspired activities throughout October, providing an immersive cultural experience.

These activities will encompass fashion shows, workshops, and exhibitions featuring Batik products from local small and medium-sized enterprises, along with culinary offerings inspired by Batik themes. A diverse range of events will engage participants of all ages, including interactive activities for children and special discounts for those wearing Batik attire.

Garth Simmons, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for the Premium, Midscale & Economy Division in Asia, conveyed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “We are delighted to celebrate Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage through KarnavALL Batik Indonesia. This initiative not only honors the exquisite art of Batik but also bridges tradition with contemporary experiences, enabling our guests to connect with Indonesian culture in meaningful ways. We take pride in supporting local communities and small enterprises, showcasing their craftsmanship while providing unique and memorable experiences.”

At Movenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, the KarnavALL Batik Indonesia celebration will offer a range of unique activities to immerse guests in the art of Batik. Throughout October, patrons at Movenpick Café will receive a 10% discount on food and beverage offerings when dressed in Batik attire. A highlight of the month is the “Weaving Global Dreams: Balinese Prada Batik Workshop & Talk Show” that happened on Friday, October 11, 2024. This exclusive event will feature Inggi Kendran, a renowned National Costume designer from Bali, celebrated for his award-winning contributions to global pageantry.

The workshop will bring together students from the Institut Desain dan Bisnis Bali (IDB Bali) and Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar (ISI Denpasar), offering them a unique opportunity to learn from Inggi Kendran’s expertise. His participation aims to inspire and empower the younger generation to embrace their creativity and pursue their dreams. The workshop will provide insights into the intricate art of Balinese Prada Batik, adorned with gold motifs, while encouraging students to appreciate and innovate within the realm of traditional Indonesian craftsmanship, seamlessly blending heritage with modern design.
