On the eastern side of Komaneka at Keramas Beach is Timur Kitchen, a stand-alone restaurant serving modern international cuisine with an emphasis on Indonesian ingredients and spices. (Timur means ‘east’ in Indonesian.) This beautiful open-air restaurant perches at the edge of the Indian Ocean.

The cuisine at Timur Kitchen makes innovative use of the wonderful flavors of Indonesia, and the resort is planting its own organic gardens to provision the restaurant. The repertoire of spices includes many treasures from Indonesian archipelago, such as the rich dark nut kluwek; the bright peppery flavor of torch ginger; and tangy lemongrass. Humble produce from local farmers’ gardens are transformed in combination with luxury ingredients: the ubi sweet potato, kecipir (wing beans), mengkudu (cheese fruit) take their place with king crabmeat, prawns, and Australian beef tenderloin.

The sophisticated contemporary design of the restaurant is rich with timber and intricate details inspired by the old era of the royal Balinese kingdoms, as well as a water fountain and pond as a symbol of prosperity and luck. The seaside location gives a spectacular 360-degree view overlooking the Indian Ocean, the neighboring island of Nusa Penida, Bali’s highest volcano Mount Agung, and the Komaneka at Keramas Beach own rice fields. The restaurant seats 50 and can accommodate at maximum 126 people, overlooking Keramas beach shaded with palm trees and beautiful tropical gardens.

On the lower level is the 40-meter-long swimming pool with its own white sandy landscaping, contrasting with the exotic black volcanic sands of Keramas beach.

Events and special dinners can be arranged for a memorable culinary journey in a natural environment of spectacular Balinese landscape and architecture, under the care of the gracious service team.

Komaneka at Keramas Beach is the newest in the collection of Komaneka Resorts boutique hotels, on a sprawling 4-hectare property that comes right to the edge of a beautiful
black-sand beach. All rooms have private swimming pools and unrestricted views of the ocean. Devotees of Komaneka Resorts will be happy to find the same warm and gracious Balinese hospitality. Komaneka at Keramas is about a 30-minute drive from Ubud, 15 minutes from Sanur, and 50 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
