Stylish new dessert café opens in Samasta Lifestyle Village serving tantalising array of Swiss-inspired sweet treats

JIMBARAN, Bali, 16 April 2017 – Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is revisiting its European roots with the grand opening of Mövenpick Café, offering everything from delicate dessert crepes and homemade cakes to a range of baked goods and irresistible ice creams. The café is conveniently located within Jimbaran’s Samasta Lifestyle Village and opens daily from from 9.00 am to 10 pm.

Owned by respected Indonesian developer PT Summarecon Agung, Tbk, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali launched in January this year. The opening of Mövenpick Café is the first in Asia and enhances an impressive fully integrated hospitality experience in the famed Jimbaran district.

Designed to satisfy any sweet tooth, Mövenpick Café is dedicated to creating not only the most delicious, but the highest quality desserts on Bali with its expert bakers and pastry chefs only using the finest ingredients. The café’s delectable cakes, freshly baked pastries (including donuts and croissants) and “Create-Your-Own Hotcakes” will surely satiate every sweet craving, yet the house-made artisanal ice cream and sorbets are set to steal the show.

Made entirely from fresh, natural ingredients and free from artificial flavouring and colouring, the café’s ultra-creamy Swiss-style ice cream comes in a variety of distinct flavours including Vanilla Custard, Organic Chocolate and Maple Walnut, as well as the more exotic Matcha, Pandan and Coconut. Inventive sorbets include Lemongrass, Tangerine and Kiwi and Rose.

To celebrate its opening, Mövenpick Café is offering customers one free scoop of ice cream until 12 May 2017 when they follow @movenpickbali on Instagram and repost the offer!

In addition to desserts, the café also serves a selection of premium espresso drinks featuring signature Mövenpick coffee supplied by Mövenpick Fine Foods in Switzerland. Creative frappes, premium teas, hot chocolates and fresh juices round out the café’s exceptional offerings.

“Holidays are meant to be a time of pure pleasure and with the Mövenpick Café right next to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, we’re able to offering a whole new level of quality indulgences,” said Horst Walther-Jones, the resort’s General Manager.

“Whether you crave a smooth ice cream to cool down during the heat of the day or like ending your evening on a sweet note, the new café brings some of Europe’s favourite desserts to Bali in an authentic way that the island has not seen before,” he added.

Though known throughout Asia as an upscale hotel brand, Mövenpick was founded in 1948 as the Mövenpick Restaurant in Zurich. Over the decades, the company expanded to incorporate restaurants, cafés and packaged food products, before expanding into hotel accommodation.
