Oceania Sonata Redefines Luxury Living at Sea with a New Generation of Suites

Oceania Cruises is preparing to launch Oceania Sonata, the first ship in the new Sonata Class, debuting in August 2027. With a size of 86,000 gross tons, the ship is designed to feel spacious and calm, welcoming only 1,390 travellers cared for by 855 crew. Notably, 33% of all accommodations are dedicated to suites, reflecting a strong focus on space, comfort, and modern luxury travel.

The suite collection offers a wide range of options, each designed as a private retreat at sea. The four Owner’s Suites, each over 2,500 square feet, feature two bedrooms, wraparound verandas, and panoramic ocean views. Vista Suites, Oceania Suites, and the newly introduced Horizon Suites add variety, offering generous layouts, open living spaces, and expansive private verandas designed for quiet moments and uninterrupted sea views.

Design details throughout the suites emphasize comfort and understated elegance. Marble-clad bathrooms, separate living and dining areas, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors create a residential feel. Dedicated butler service is available in all suites, while select categories also include in-suite illy® coffee machines, Tranquility Beds, and Aquamar® luxury bath amenities.

As the inaugural season approaches, Oceania Sonata represents a thoughtful evolution of luxury cruising. Details of the ship’s design and inaugural itineraries have now been unveiled, offering a clearer look at what travellers can expect when the ship begins sailing in August 2027. The vessel reflects Oceania Cruises’ continued commitment to refined experiences, spacious design, and destination-focused journeys.
