Padma Resort Legian presents the Bali-born, internationally-acclaimed jazz pianist, Joey Alexander in concert performing as a musical trio, Joey Alexander & Friends. Tickets are now for sale online for the limited two-night Bali engagement on Friday and Saturday, 15 & 16 September 2023, at the Plumeria Grand Ballroom, Padma Resort Legian, Bali.
Born in Bali 20 years ago, Joey’s talent was evident from a very young age prompting his parents to relocate to the U.S.A. when their son was only 10 years of age and showcase Joey’s talent for jazz music on various occasions. At that time, Joey received invitations from Wynton Marsalis, the renowned jazz musician and Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, to showcase his talents at the Lincoln Center and collaborate with the esteemed Lincoln Center Orchestra. Joey was invited by the Arthur Ashe Foundation to perform at a Gala Dinner, where Bill Clinton was among the distinguished guests. Since then, Joey has graced numerous international-class stages in various countries, not only within America but also across Europe.
Joey is the first Indonesian to chart on Billboard’s Top 200 and to be thrice-nominated for a Grammy Award. During the past ten years in the USA, Joey has recorded six highly-acclaimed albums and will share some of his originals at the upcoming concert in Padma Resort Legian. Joey continues to enjoy the respect of global audiences and fellow musicians, leaving them spellbound at esteemed Jazz Festivals across the globe — from Odessa to Montreal, Newport to Copenhagen, Montreux to Detroit, Mackinac Island to the Juilliard School of Music, and from New Orleans to Jakarta. Moreover, Joey’s extraordinary talent has graced The US White House through his performance for President Obama, played for a global television audience live from Lincoln Center, and “wowed” a sold-out engagement at Carnegie Hall. Throughout his journey, Joey has also dedicated a decade to his professional career as a bandleader and composer.
