This year marks the 100th anniversary of Seiko, the well-known Japanese watch brand. Seiko Indonesia is celebrating this milestone by holding a special exhibition open to the public at Plaza Senayan Mall. The exhibition showcases Seiko’s historic products, expressing gratitude to loyal customers who have supported the brand throughout its journey.
Kevin Lie, General Manager of Seiko Indonesia, shared that Seiko reflects on a century of achievements and challenges. He thanked customers in Indonesia for their ongoing support and emphasized the brand’s commitment to inspiring the horology world while honoring its Japanese watchmaking legacy. The exhibition offers the public a chance to experience Seiko’s rich history and technological innovations.
The exhibition, available from November 5-11, 2024, features iconic timepieces, including models from the 1960s to the 1980s. It also showcases modern reinterpretations of collections like King Seiko, Prospex, Presage, and Seiko 5 Sports, along with a special collection from the Seiko Museum in Ginza. The historical models on display include the first Seiko-branded watch from 1924 and the first Seiko 5 Sports from 1968.
In addition to the exhibition, Seiko is hosting a “Virtual Run Challenge” and offering a Caricature Experience for the first 60 visitors. They also launched a website, “The Seiko Brand 100 Stories,” which invites enthusiasts to explore Seiko’s history and innovations over the past century through 100 stories.
Founded in 1881, Seiko introduced its first branded watch in 1924. The brand has become a leader in the horology industry, driven by its founder’s philosophy, “Always one step ahead of the rest.” Seiko plans to continue developing innovative solutions to meet the technological challenges of the watch industry in the future. With strong community support, especially in Indonesia, Seiko is confident in its ability to enhance the experience of its loyal customers.
