Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel), a new tourist destination with the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, will open its doors on 17 April 2019. Jewel will be Singapore’s first multi-dimensional lifestyle hub that will feature an all-in-one play, retail and nature elements on a large scale with unique leisure attractions, several first-of-its kind retail and F&B concept stores, and a hotel.
Jewel’s distinctive dome-shaped glass and steel façade will draw the attention of all travellers flying in and out of Singapore. Just under two hours of flight time away from Jakarta, Indonesian travellers can look forward to discovering and indulging in new experiences and retail therapy upon their arrival at, or before their departure from, Changi Airport. Access to Jewel is easy. It is directly connected to T1’s Arrival Hall, and connected to T2 and T3 with newly-built link bridges.

A more attractive stopover option
To strengthen Changi Airport’s appeal as a stopover option, there will be facilities in Jewel to enhance travellers’ journey. Transiting travellers will be able to visit Jewel and enjoy a restful layover in the 130-room hotel operated by YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport. Early check-in facilities will also be available for travellers with late flight departures from Changi Airport.

Beneath its distinctive façade, the glass dome structure houses a lush greenery amid other attractions and facilities within the same air-conditioned building. Jewel will have five storeys above ground and five basement storeys, covering a total gross floor area of about 137,000 square metres (sqm).
One of Jewel’s centerpiece attraction is a huge four-storey indoor garden Forest Valley filled with thousands of trees, plants, ferns and shrubs and a breathtaking 40-metre high Rain Vortex – expected to be the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. Located at the central core of the complex, this majestic spectacle will captivate visitors with its magnificent water display.
On the retail and dining front, the over 280 shops and eateries with exciting new concepts and top international and Singapore brands will appeal to Indonesians and shopaholics from around the world. Making their debut in Jewel will be several first-in Singapore brands such as Shake Shack (American fast casual restaurant chain based in New York), Burger and Lobster (London-born), Pokemon, Laderach (Swiss artisanal chocolatier), Pink Fish (world’s first fast-casual seafood restaurant) and familiar Singapore brands such as Tiger Beer, Naiise and Supermama (best-known for exquisite gifts and souvenirs). Shoppers will be able to traverse seamlessly between nature and retail as they step into the retail corridors from the walking trails of the Forest Valley. In
addition, there will be specially-created F&B outlets where visitors will be able to enjoy al fresco-like dining while admiring views of the Forest Valley, in cool comfort throughout the day. The integration of world-class retail brands and unique dining concepts with indoor gardens and leisure attractions will provide visitors with a myriad of experiences all under one roof – making Jewel a one-of-a-kind lifestyle destination.
The top level of Jewel will feature Canopy Park, a park space of approximately 14,000sqm in size, comprising play attractions, gardens, walking trails, and dining outlets. Here, visitors will be able to bounce and roam on a 25-metre high Sky Nets, walk on a 50-metre long Canopy bridge suspended 23 metres above ground, slide to their hearts’ content at Discovery Slides and many more. These attractions are specially designed for Jewel’s unique indoor garden environment and to be enjoyed under all weather conditions. Planned for a second phase opening by mid-2019, Canopy Park will be a wonderland for both the young and young at heart.
